iMOVIE





Area of Interaction: Service and Community

Significant Concept: Technology can help me make an impact on my community.
Unit Question: How can I be a superhero in my community? By helping those in need, like old people get across the street.

Instructions:


Using iMovie, create a movie about you being a superhero in your community.



Your movie must include at least 25 - 30 pictures. You can use your Comic Life pictures and storyboard.



You need to create a GarageBand song for your movie.



Add transitions.



Add sound - this include GarageBand and sound effects.



Add a title at the beginning of your movie, and credits at the end of your movie.


  • Your movie should between 1 minute to 1 minute and 30 seconds.

Use the Design Cycle to complete your assignment.



When you are finished with your movie, post it on your wikispace. You need to export your movie into a "Tiny" file.



Name your new wiki page "iMovie".



Export your movie to a QuickTime file.


  • Create a DVD of your movie.

Copy and paste all of the information below into your wikispace to answer the questions.

2. How does the Design Cycle apply to the real world? By helping us plan out how we are going to create something.

Plan:
4. Brainstorm ideas - use your chart from your Comic Life unit.
5. Select one of your ideas and justify your choice. I would choose the one you used for Comic Life.
6. Does your idea meet all of the requirements in the Design Brief? Yes
7. Does your idea answer all the questions in the Design Brief? YES
8. Use the story board paper and your Comic Life to plan your iMovie.
9. Explain how you will use your time to get your project finished in 5 days:
  • Day 1: We answered all the questions and took the test on Skyward.
  • Day 2: We will explore how to use IMovie.
  • Day 3: We will start adding pictures.
  • Day 4: We will add a garage band song to our movie.
  • Day 5: Don't forget you need to post your movie into your wikispace and burn a DVD of your movie.


Create:
  • Use appropriate software and pictures to create your iMovie. (and be nice to my computer!)
  • Follow your plan.
  • Pay attention to the quality of your presentation!

13. Share your movie with at least one friend. What did he/she like about your movie? They liked the voices that we put into the movie.
14. Reflect on all the steps of the Design Cycle. What did you do well? What do you need to improve?
  • Investigate: We investigated how to work the Imovie before we started working on it, but we could have spent more time on it.
  • Plan: We already planned it out with our comic life but, we could have changed things.
  • Create: WE created out project, but we could have spent more time in the beginning.
  • Evaluate: We looked at our past projects and used them, but we could have done a better job evaluating ourselves.

16. How are you a superhero in your community? We set an example for younger children.
17. Do you like using iMovie? Explain. Yes, because it is interesting and fun.
